RMIT School of Design, celebrated another year of talented students graduating in 2021. In collaboration with the Playing With Matches studio, the contemporary website ‘Off Grid’ was created. Mirrored by hoarding displayed around the City of Melbourne, the exciting display of student work also drew the parallels of completing their studies and surviving the world record of the longest COVID-19 lockdown.

Unfortunately, Heinz (at this stage) is not collaborating with Spain’s annual La Tomatina tomato throwing festival, although I thought it would be a sensational campaign. The hypothetical festival poster was a school project, limited to a three colour print. The brief required both a conventional and unconventional design, the latter encouraged designers to push the limitations of legibility while still engaging the demographic.

Urban Planning commissioned a full overhaul of previous website design with a clean and simple layout to fit the aesthetic of the business moving forward. Urban Planning realised their business was rapidly growing, so as to manage the demand they wanted to improve their digital presence for Australia wide clientele.

MOUNTLAB required a brand identity and a website, in addition to merchandise for their clientele. They wanted playful colours paired with clean elements to build their identity while not being locked into a single colour scheme.

Playful design created for the book cover of the novel ‘The Silver Linings Playbook’ written by Matthew Quick. The bright repetition of blue clouds highlighted by a ‘silver lining’ is an instant reference to the title, inviting the viewer to the novel—without revealing the plot.

The School of Design, from RMIT commissioned a Graduation Show for the Communication Design students finalising their studies. I built ‘Look! We Made It’ within SquareSpace. Using PHP, HTML and CSS, we were able to create a user interface that is intuitive and enjoyable to explore, while showing off the amazing achievements of the graduating cohort of 2020.
